Red Boots &... - Catch Up Post #2

A new red hat!

Well, really not new - Meme gave it to him for Christmas, and he would have no part of wearing it.

Now, he loves it!

Memphis Zoo - Catch Up Post #1

May 15, 2011 - Zoo Trip #2 for Garrison!
He loved it yet even more than his first trip...

We had a wonderful time with the Rea's - and some other friend's of theirs that met us there. It was the coldest day we've had in about 2 months (how often is the high in the low 60's in May?!...overcast clouds...with pretty gusty winds...it was chilly!!), but it was still great - at least that helped cut down on the crowds!! :)

Whatever he saw, deserved a double-point!

He & Baylie loved the birds!
(Isn't she beautiful!?)

With his Daddy checking out the pig - he loves the Barnyard part of the zoo...
Oh how fun were the monkey's entertainment during our lunch stop! The kiddos had a blast watching them...they would pat to your hands on the glass...too fun!
The Panda Bears -

and elephants -

and the Polar Bears!
(Baylie & her Daddy - whom Garrison refers to as 'Doc'!)
I love the look on Garrison's face...pure amazement!
The Polar Bears were really showing out in front of them.
Then we tied them down in their strollers to rest! :)
Don't they look thrilled?!
An attempt at a family pic - again, doesn't he look thrilled?!
And then on to my personal favorite - the Giraffes!
(Best we could get of all 3!)

It was a fabulously fun day!
The kiddos completely crashed for the ride home.

I can't wait to do it again!
And neither can Garrison - he still talks about going to the zoo 'last week' (anything that he refers to happening in the past, always is refererred to as 'last week' regardless of when it was!).

Hibatchi!!

Garrison had his first hibatchi experience recently (my choice of Mother's Day dinner :) )! I wasn't sure how he'd handle the whole fire and show, but he LOVED it!!! We talked about it on the way to Jackson and he was pretty excited... I think we've found a great place to go eat with him - it was constant entertainment and he was stuffed when we left!! He ate rice, shrimp, veggies, steak - and some steamed soy beans that a little girl at our table shared with him! It worked out perfect because there happened to be another young couple at our table with their two year old daughter. She was precious and obviously a pro at hibatchi! Garrison loved those 'green beans' as he called them!

The fire reaction -
Watching the cook -
And eating some yummy food!!

And of course we stopped at Target...
Garrison was trying to pick up the 'big red ball'...but it was 'too heavy'!!

Critters

We had a visitor on the back porch Saturday morning...

And an excited little boy!

We followed him around the yard most of the morning...

Played with him a little...

but then let him go...and tried to help Garrison understand that he went to find his Mommy!

We also have a bird nest!
Garrison has been watching it, and the Mama bird...we let him peek in tonight to see the eggs...hopefully we didn't disturb the nest too much!

A few randoms...

An attempt to catch up on a few random things I've missed...

Yea, it's a good idea to check the broiler before actually cutting the oven on these days...you never know what you might find!! A tractor, monster truck...and would have been a cookie jar if it only would have fit! I only caught him because he was 'moaning & groaning' becuase it wouldn't fit in there...

He is very intrigued by his Daddy's 'byu pen'...Nathan usually has a blue pen on his shirt that he uses at work...well...I'll let the picture speak for itself on this one...

This next one has a good story.

Several weeks ago, Garrison rode to Jackson with his Sassy...well, his Sassy treats him to balloons...he loves balloons...so they went to Party City to get a special balloon. Garrison found a HUGE Mickey Mouse one (or so I was told...don't ask what she paid for it...). To make a long story short, Mickey went to visit the moon before he made it back to KO! Somehow it slipped out the door when they made one last stop before heading home. I'm amazed that there wasn't a terrible meltdown over it, but she said he just had a very stunned look on his face and said that Mickey was going to the moon!! ha!

So - last week one day, we ran into Sassy in Wal-Mart, and he immediately wanted to go wtih her to find a balloon...so off they went...and return with this Mickey balloon! Garrison was thrilled!! He said that Mickey had been at Wal-Mart the WHOLE time!
Yes, this balloon is still floating around my house, and probably will be for a while!

I'm told that this one isn't but about half as big as the original, but I don't guess Garrison noticed!

Thanks, Sassy!

This little guy is very into yard work too - loves to 'help' his Daddy!

Putting out bark - (not sure what happened to his shoes??)
