Just like everyone else, I surely cannot believe my baby boy is really 18 months old. And, WOW, he is changing so much!! Learning new things (good & bad) and growing like a weed.
Here are some of his favorite things to do/say and what he's up to these days:
BUBBLES (either outside blowing bubbles, or in the bath tub - I just love the way he says 'bub-blessss'!)
Watching 'deer' on tv with his Daddy & Pawpaw (The Outdoor Channel)
Loves Lucy and has finally learned that her name is 'Lucy' and not 'dog'
Swimming (he'll take off running straight into the pool so you really have to watch him! Thankfully he does wear floaties now so that helps!)
Loves a tractor
We are working on counting. If you say 'one', he can say 'two' and occasionally will repeat you if you say 'three' - when we were swimming recently, Nathan was counting 1-2-3 JUMP...well, Garrison said '2-2-2' and jumped! It was priceless.
Likes to point out people in pictures - we are working on learning his friends' names when we look at their pictures on the fridge.
Has a new LOVE for Elmo movies ('Mel-Mo' as Garrison says!) Any tv he sees should always be playing 'Mel-Mo'!
He's had a few temper tantrums that I just could not believe - somethings you can tell him 'no' about and he' s ok, sometimes, not so much....Terrible 2's will be interesting...
LOVES a phone - like a real phone, not a play phone. He really likes my iPhone and has learned how to unlock it (video post below) which is somewhat my fault becuase it sure was cute watching him learn! He loves the App I have that does the animal sounds!
Has about 10 balls that he loves to throw at you! He thinks it's pretty funny for you to throw them back and he's getting better with his coordination to catch!
He's putting small phrases together - like 'hello (except the l is a w sound in 'hello') mama, bye-bye mama, mama ball (when handing me his ball)', things like that.
He loves to eat and is easy to please - not a picky eater. Some of his new favorites are soft tacos from El Rodeo, tomatoes, bacon, fried okra, and ketchup on anything he sees his Daddy eat (Nathan eats ketchup on everything...)!! He loves 'TEA' - he loudly asks for it anytime we are at a restaurant and he sees our glasses!
His little personality is just hilarious and he is so BUSY!! He's pretty shy when we go somewhere, but at home he is going non-stop - running from room to room, laughing and playing! He rarely slows down unless he is asleep. Oh - and I am very pleased, but a little sad, to say we finally are at the point where he puts himself to sleep. At night, after his bath and tooth-brushing, he gets a cup of milk and I put him in his bed. He usually rolls around and talks for maybe 5 minutes, then falls asleep.
You can almost set a timer to him that he will sleep 12 hours a night - sometimes more! A few times, he slept until 10:15!! He usually goes to bed between 8-8:30 and we don't hear a peep from him all night. When he does wake up, he usually just lays in his bed for up to 30 minutes or so just playing and talking....I love to listen/watch him on the monitor in the mornings.
We went to the dentist this month....I was pretty much sure it was going to be a terrible experience, but it went much better than I was expecting. He had no cavities or problems and Dr. Tiffany (Southern Smiles) gave us a A+ on brushing! YAY! He loves to brush his teeth, and by that, I do mean he doesn't want us to brush his teeth, he wants to do it - Mr. Independent! I usually make him let me do it first, then I let him look in the mirror and do it himself some too. He is always getting tickled laughing at himself brushing his teeth - too fun! He has 16 teeth and the dentist said we will likely see his next set of molars by 20 months since he cut the others so early.
Ok, so that was a LOT longer than I was planning, but I'll be glad to have it to look back on one day. We sure love our little guy - even through those temper tantrums!!
